THE GIFT OF LIFE: Kidney Donation

In November 2017, our founder, Michael Mancusi selflessly donated a kidney to his brother in-law. Kidney disease impacts a large chunk of our population. To be exact, according to the National Kidney Foundation, 37 million American adults have Chronic Kidney Disease.  We hope that by sharing this story you will become inspired to get involved. Learn more.

Suffolk County Council, BSA provides a comprehensive values-based program that develops character, teaches citizenship, and encourages personal fitness to more than 7500 youth each year. The Council was chartered on April 6, 1919 to instill values and expand the Scouting movement in Suffolk County.

The Suffolk County Chapter of the Brotherhood for the Fallen was organized in an effort to show our respect, honor, and support for fallen heroes throughout our country.  Nationwide our members attend, in uniform, the funerals of Police Officers killed in the performance of their duties and present the family of the fallen with a monetary donation to help supplement income during the initial painful and chaotic time following each tragedy.

The Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund is committed to battling breast cancer by supporting both new, and established researchers. To date, the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund has awarded research grants totaling in excess of 5 million dollars to medical research.

Habitat works toward its vision by building strength, stability and self-reliance in partnership with families in need of decent and affordable housing. Habitat homeowners help build their own homes alongside volunteers and pay an affordable mortgage.
